We're considering buying and have a hard time discerning what package is on any given car, among so many choices. Motor Trend's List Of Packages

Is there any strong visual cue to immediately tell you Premium 1 vs Premium 2 for instance? We ran into a car with a wood steering wheel - most don't have that. What package is this? We can see the list of things - but not being very familiar with these cars it's hard to spot Black Nappa Leather on Door Side Armrests versus some other kind of leather.

Is there a package that is more luxury and less sporty riding? Soft vs Firm.

Lastly - common points of failures or things we should be wary of with 2012s.

P2 giveaway clue is the xenon headlights and maybe the ventilated seats. Wood trim package that includes steering wheel is a separate option, as are the lane tracker, distronic plus, mbrace, rear airbags, rear spoiler and illuminated door sills. You can probably find a sales brochure online that call out what the P1 and P2 packages included. Also the appearance package (includes AMG wheels) is a separate option.

It's Designo Leather trim - (in Porcelin) on the console, doors & dash - very custom looking - it has stitching around the dash and door panel pieces.
