W115 240D (auto) alternator and power problems
Hello outhere!!!
I am new to the forum and an old Mercedes enthusiast, i will appreciate any suggestions and guidance iin this new journey.
I bought a 79 240d W115 a few yrs back as a non runner. eventually the old diesel as come alive and the car is driving
- engine overhaul carried out.
I have noticed the the car is very lazy - on small inclines it slows down to as slow as 40km/h only then will it gear down, however it gear up too quickly before gaining momentum again - what could be the problem here?
Recently it started not refilling the battery - is it worthwhile to fix the original alternator or are the upgrade options?
is there an option to add a turbo to the OM616 engine?
