72 Mercedes 220e and a VR6 swapped 92 gti
Just picked up a 72 MB 220E and have a few issues.

The ignition harness plug that connects to the back of the ignition switch and shift lock assembly was pulled out by a tweaker that was attempting to steal the car. I am having issues trying to reconnect it to the back part up under the dash so I can drive it. Also it is very hard to get under there with the column in the way and was wondering if there is a way to drop the steering column down to get easier access. Any ideas?

Possibly actually. I'm thinking it might be easier to just drop the column down a little bit? How would I go about changing the whole ignition switch assembly?

The issue is trying to find the factory documents for the car----you can use MB's EPC for parts and blow ups of areas to help answer your questions however there are no removal docs in WIS for the W114\W115----there has to be a German user group that has all that information---be watchful because there will be loads of HS supposed DIY's that are most likely based on the grab and pull method, not the factory!!
