Selling 1983 300D Turbodiesel
Hello, I am selling my beloved blue 1983 Mercedes-Benz 300D Turbodiesel. 123 body style. Automatic transmission. Sunroof. Blue leather upholstery. New tires. Sony digital radio with ipod/mp3 input. Power windows, power locks. Removable velour dash cover. Custom Mercedes logo grill. 159k original miles.
Recently serviced at Shuler Autohaus in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Can provide service records (both mine and the previous owners). Oil always changed at 3k. Rust-free.
Has NOT been converted to vegetable oil (do not recommend). Will run great on diesel or biodiesel fuel.
Beautiful car, but does need some work. Selling as-is. Could easily fetch much more with some TLC. Purchased in 2011 when I lived in Los Angeles (hence the photos) and we've recently relocated to Northwest Arkansas. The car was shipped here on a car carrier. I hate to sell it and I wish I could keep it, but I don't drive it enough and it's not fair to leave it sitting outdoors. This car has a long life ahead of it and deserves a good one.
Regarding work:
Needs one brake caliper, replacement hose, and one replacement brake pad. Shuler estimated 450 for the job. I would recommend replacing the starter too, either upon purchase or in the semi-near future. Shuler estimated 390. Sunroof tracking is a little wonky but has never leaked or refused to open / close. Upholstery on drivers seat is worn. Needs small paint touch up (driver door was keyed recently). Clear coat is coming up on the hood. Radio antenna broke off during transport.
Salvage Title (previous owner in CA retitled as salvage after an accident for financial reasons and kept the car for many years).
Qualifies for antique plates!
