Paint Job
Hello Forum,
I could use some advice, I'm about to have a shop in Phoenix paint my 1978 280CE and have a few questions. The paint shop was recommended to me as a shop that does great work and pays attention to detail. My MBZ has the original grau/blau paint 906g and will be color matched to the same with Spies Hecker 2 stage paint. The car is in very good condition and will need minimal body attention (1 minor rear fender dent and a 1 fender chrome piece needs to be addressed). I've owned the car for approximately 3 years, but have put about 100 miles on it in that time. It is time to start enjoying it.
Paint shop will pull front and rear windows to aid in a full re-spray of the car. As such, will need to replace window molding. Since the car is a Phoenix car, I have requested for the rear window and side window to have tinting installed.
Question 1: Are there parts other rubber molding or items that I should replace while being painted?
Question 2: What is the preferred on-line parts store that folks use for these older cars?
Thanks in advance for your input.
