Engine Swap- SLK350 into 300CD
Proposed project for client: E35 engine/tranny from 2005 SLK350 into 1979 300CD. Would purchase complete running donor SLK.
Please let me know your thoughts. Aside from the usual "that's blasphemy!".
Thanks!

E350, E320 Wagon, E320 CDI ML320CDI Sold, SLK350 Sold, 300D For Sale.
Don't fear the electronics; all should be contained on the motor itself, in fact I believe the engine ccu is actually the finned unit on the top of the motor.
Een better yet would be a donor motor from a SLK32 or C32 AMG

GO FOR IT!
In my old V6 (later SuperCharged) w123...the above comment is correct - my father designed them as "stand alone" units. Almost like CAN networks now...there was the ENGINE/TRANS electrics and the CARS electrics.
HAVE FUN! I LOVED my rack and pinion steering - and using BORESON universals...it worked very well and certainly made the FEEL and JOY of driving a lot better!
