Is my car lowered???
You're probably thinking "Why ask me, it's YOUR car???", but when I park next to other 300e's my car appears lower and I've owned a bunch of lowered cars and the ride is very similur but not as bumpy. i have to do all the lowered stuff..in/out of driveways slow and if need be at an angle, slow over ALL speed bumps and park about six to eight inches from parking blocks.
Now you're probably saying "Sounds like it's lowered to me.", yet when I compare my car to pics of ChrisDPhams' car, I see abig difference.
So tell me is my car lowered?
now Chris' car

Tony, you dropped it recently haven't you. I don't remember being that low at the last GTG. lol Unless it just looks lower in pictures. Did you also get an exhaust? I don't remember that either. lol
Time to come clean tony. But, of course my car is still lower than yours.

to each his own. I think Tonys car looks good. I'm not a huge fan of the taillights, but I still think it gives the car a nice different look.
Car looks lower, maybe the spring pads were swapped out for the thinner pads which makes it lower though not by much compared to a non stock car. also bigger wheels will in some cases also make the car look lower as they fill the wheel well more.

Your car does look lowered. Maybe look at the springs and see what markings are on them. While you're there look at the spring pads.
Chris' car looks too low on the front. There is no way to get the wheel alignment correct with the front that low. I bet his car eats tyres?

Not that I care, but I'm just curious..only because it's a rather bold statement. I mean to say you don't like them (lights and exhaust) is cool, you could even say "that looks like ****!"...no biggie, that's your opinion. But to say that "..somewhere Karl Benz is rolling over in his grave. ", is a little too much, don't you think?? Did you know him, were you friends, did he call you on the phone?? LOL!
I mean break it down...why would he be rollin' in his grave? Because my tail lights are clear and not red?? Or because my exhaust is pointing up and not down? Or because the tips are square and not round??? Is that why?
I think it's a safe bet that he's in the same position that he was laid to rest in.
ANYWAY.... I think I'm definitly going to get my car on a lift tomorrow and pull a couple of wheels and see what's going on down there.
Chris yes my friend, I did get an exhaust...but, I don't like it, I mean it wouldn't make me roll over in my grave or nothing (LOL), but I just don't like it. it was a freebie so I figured what the heck.Sounds good, though. Nice tone...definitly doesn't sound like a band of kazoos. I'm getting a new one tomorrow or Tues.
Alon , as usual...thanks! I may have to work that into my sig...getting tired of typing it

X03...your car looks...
Fantastic!! . The rims look very nice. They are from a 1996-2002 e class right? Did you buy em as take offs? Also, nice clean install on that HU. What brand did you go with. thanks, TG
ooh, didnt want to be off topic so, id say it appears that your front end is squating/sitting lower than the rear. Original poster of this threads car does seem to look lowered...But tastefully so TG

NICE car!
your rear is definitly higher than the front...the question, in your case, is the front lowered or rear raised? From what i can see it looks like the front shocks are shot...is the ride real bumpy? Because if it was lowered I would think the rear would have been done as well. Also, how does the car look with a full tank of gas?

wow your car is extremely high in the rear. I'm surprised because you even have a system and that doesn't play a big role on weighing down the rear end either.

thanks for the comments my dad has always taken care of his car since 1990 lol
those pictures IS with a full tank of gas and the subs in the back...hahaha
but even without them, the ride height still looks the same. Ill have to check into the front shocks/springs like you said, but the rear still disturbs me
oh and the headunit is a kenwood....something haha i have the box in my car, and im not sure where my dad got the rims from, but ill be upgrading them soon enough when i find more funds. thanks for the replies tho

'95 E320
Strut replacement
X03
I had the exact situation with '95 E320 wagon with 90K miles. I just replaced the front struts (Bilstein) and now it looks stock. The feel of the car has vastly improved in corners and starting/stopping. They really tightened the ride. As a side note, the headlights were much better because they were properly aimed with the stock ride height.
How many of you guys are re-aiming your headlights after suspension tweeks?
