Hood release stuck

Does anyone know how to open the hood if the hood release isn't working? Cable is OK but for some reason won't open the hood latch. There must be some way to open the hood without the latch...I hope !

hmm....it'd be hard to do it with the grille covering the area...you can try a screwdriver to sort of unlatch the hood manually but again, the grille offers you limited space...

...got it ....but what a job. Problem was spring in latch not pushing the hood up. Replaced it with a used one.

With a long screw driver and a lotta patience.....Had to destroy the plastic cover on the mechanism from below....to get to the the clip. It's a lotta work.

you could have used a hanger. I had to figure out a way to open my hood after my latch broke off too. just use the hook part of the hanger, stick it through the grill, and get it behind the latch and carefully pull forward. tada!

More than once I've gotten sticky hoods open by slapping the hood as I pull on the lever. (I have long arms!)

Thanks X03 for the tip!

X03, thanks for your tip. Helped save me from taking the car to the dealer to have them opened the hood. I broke the hood release and couldn't figure out how to open it. So, thank you!
