This might be a dumb question
Do Mercedes have to use a special spring compressor. I have never used one on a Mercedes before. Aren't they universal, and if not does anyone know if one that works on a BMW will work on an MB

FWIW,
I just found that my trusty universal coil spring compressor (that I had used many times on various VW and Audi's over the years) to be much less than the ideal tool for the job on the ole 124. After a bit of frustration and a realization that my wallet would once again be lightened, I buttoned up the E320 wagon with fresh Bilstein's and left my new springs in the box.
Now I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my newly purchased MB 124 coil spring compressor and hope to get these H&R springs out of the living room and into service. Fingers crossed, I'll get it by the weekend.
BTW.....I plan to replace the shocks and struts in my Moms E36 in the next few weeks. If the E36 takes the compressor you have....maybe we can work something out??

Shoot me an e-mail next week. I hope to have the tool by Friday of this week and be finished (temporarily) by mid week next week.
