Euro Headlight Wiring Diagram W124

I just won an auction on eBay for some Depot Headlights

Got 'em for $155 shipped so hopefully I got a decent deal.

I searched around this board for install tips and tales of woe.

Apparently I'll need a different style plug. Someone said its the same as

the w124 tailight plug. What i'd like is a wiring diagram for the euro

set-up or at least a walk through so I know exactly the wire placement

on the new plug. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

useful post, will help people for sure in the future.
when i re-did my lights i manually figured it out, this would have saved me a few minutes of thinking.
the procedure is simple. i had some issues stuffing the headlights back in the car though because of the wiper arm motors on the bottom, but nothing a few thumps wouldn't solve..!

I ordered the E code Bosch units from Automotion for my 94 E320 ($299 a piece but still cheaper than Bekkers.) Do the same wiring mods apply for the 94-95 style headlights?

i believe so, it hink the only difference between the two lights is the type of bulb, right?

If you ordered euro W124 headlights, the main bulb will be H4. The H4 is both high/low beam, the H3 bulb is used for the fog.

For wiring, if you have a VOM, just determine which wire controls each function and wire up your plug accordingly. If your going to utilize the city light bulb, you will need another female pin, some 16 awg wire and some t-taps or wire caps so you can tap into your running light wire.

+1 wondering the same thing...

this is all just in time as my depos just came in after the seller initially shipped out the wrong headlight in the first place. This time around, the depos came with the plastic surrounding the glass cracked - specifically at the mounting point for the metal trim piece. I fabricated up a metal bracket but not too happy with the whole ordeal.

The depo's use a different city light socket/bulb than the Hella/Bosch euros, which makes finding bulbs more difficult.

The bulbs for the Depos is a T10 wedge, like these

I made this a while ago before I decided to connect the city bulb. If you tap into the parking lights like Rik mentioned, I believe it's socket number 2 in the top row...

Pretty certain SirTweakAlot has his working by now.
Attached an OE retrofit schematic for those who may be searching this topic.

Incidentally, our former (early) 300E’s OEM euro takeoffs need another W124 from which to illuminate.

Any member who would like a pair of ‘em?

Does $200 shipped sound fair?

Not certain if they will fit the 400E with its evolution grill surround and hood configuration.
If they’ll work on yours, they’re no doubt far superior to off Broadway hardware:

Kindly note that one mounting tab was broken by a ham-fisted body shop technician upon installation.
Didn’t even notice until their removal.
However, it had no affect on its proper aiming capabilities or hood/fender alignment.

They are otherwise in very good condition, intact, and fully functional.

If they are indeed applicable to your model, I’ll see to it that they’re shipped your way this week.

edit: PM's replied.

euro conversion

I also converted my stock headlight to euro lights. I used the wiring from internet post but now my security alarm is going off every day. I have to unplug my ground wire. Can someone help me out here?
