Creaking Noise from front end

For the past year or so i have had a creaking noise in the front end of my car and it has slowly been getting worse

It creaks when i turn the steering wheel and when i hit a speed bump or when there is any major vertical fluctuation in the wheel, it sounds like it is coming from the front left of the car and none of my wheels are rubbing

What might this be? a tie rod?, a sway bar?

Anyone ever have anything similar to this with a w124?

My car needs an alignment badly but i am waiting until i get my new wheel on it, when driving straight i have to hold the wheel at a 5-7 degree angle to the left to keep the car straight but i have had this creaking noise since before that happened

Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks i advance

85 euro w124 300d non turbo black on black......coming soon hx35 turbo intercooler
Check your lower control arm bushings that go to your frame that could be causing your alignment issue too. When Im done with it I will be posting a do it yourself link on ps2cho m1o3 link. Im replacing those now. Also if you do have bad bushing etc do research they make kits all for these cars. There not like chevy or dodge. My lower control bushing cost 70 bucks for all 4 on ebay they want 79 for just the arm.

I had the same creaking and it was my sway bar....I never figured out "why"....I just took it off and put it back on and it stopped.

Sounds like what I experienced on another car. In my case it was the sway bar bushings. Tech removed them, lubed with anti-seize(!), put them back in, problem solved.

Another vouch for the outer ball joint. These are at the very end of your control arm and are pressed in, they hold the control arm onto the knuckle. If this squeek happens when you turn as well as when you hit bumps the only part in the front suspension that moves on an X,Y,Z axis is the ball joint.

I bet your rack and pinion is leaking. Check your power steering fluid level and if there is trace of leaks on the ground.

Perrier, low power steering fluid will cause a whine from the pump. These cars do not have a "rack and pinion" style steering system, rather a steering box. Most commonly, leaks develop at hose connections or at the steering box pittman shaft.
