WTB: Eibach Lowerin Springs for Cabriolet
Yes, I know I'm playing with fire given all that I've been through with the suspension, but I can't resist. I tried to source the Eibachs new but apparently they have DC'ed by Eibach and I haven't been able to find any NOS. A link to someone who actually has a set in-stock would be appreciated as well.
Thanks,

Why not H&R Sports...will drop about 1.3" which will maintain a compliant ride quality...
And yes you are playing with fire...

Thanks! I thought the opposite was true, e.g., that the Eibachs were more compliant. I also read that the Eibachs lowered the car less than some of the others. I really want about an 1" lower, but the choice seems to be either 0.5" for the sportline springs or 1.3" or more for after market springs. Given what you've said, though, I would not be opposed to the H & R springs. The Cab version of the H&R's (No. 29894) also seems to be tough to find.

When I bought my eiback springs for my first Cab lowering, I chose them because (I thought) they were the lesser of drops, compared to H&Rs. The B&Gs are a bigger drop, still no apparent camber type issues.
Eibachs and Bilstein Sports = winning combo on my 95 Cab, seen below w et35 225x45x17

Why are cab springs different? Can you not just use coupe springs?
Also, from H&R and Eibach, which ones offer a better ride?
I've heard of people installing lowering springs but not really getting a lower car for some reason?

Well, I was very naughty. On the advice of posters to this thread, I got the last set of H&R springs in the US H&R warehouse and now have them on the Cabrio. I still have a few minor rubbing/alignment issues to work out, but those should be straightforward.
I have to say that the new look and handling are smok'n! This has brought the car forward in time 10 years. I've almost gotten two tickets in the week I've had them on! It was really a great thing to do.
Thanks to everyone and your combined experience for your help and recommendations.

The only example of that I have seen is the hydraulic rear / SLS system needs to be manipulated to help a wagon / 500e lower in the rear.
I sure hate to hear of the last H&Rs gone...toys for these toys are disappearing.

The final drop . . .
Well, here's what I got after new front suspension components, H&R Cabrio springs, Bilstein HDs, Monoblock II 17's, Michelin Tires, numerous cuts and abrasions, and a tetanus shot. I have to say I'm very pleased with the end result. I wanted aggressive, but still might pass for factory. And the car's handling is tighter than a vicar's pocketbook. I took it to the Larz Anderson (Brookline, MA) MB show today where there were 3 other W124 Cabriolets and it seemed to hold up well - a number people stopped by and said they liked it. Interestingly, not one person commented about the lowering. Just what I wanted.
Thanks again for all of the advice,
