Outside Temperature Sensor Display

The outside temperature sensor in my 1994 E320 Wagon seems to read about 20 degrees low. Is the sensor bad? If so where is the thing? I have a junk yard up the road I can try and locate another one up there.

The sensor is located behind your front license plate. Remove plate, remove plate holder, to the left as viewed from the front.

Sensor

Do you think the sensor is bad, or is it something in the ECU?

I have not dealt with this issue personally, but I do not see that the ECU is the issue.
The ECU does not care what the outside temp is, only within the engine thus the coolant etc.
I would say it is the sensor.

Sensor

A lot of times they will have resistors on the circuit that can go bad over time. I am more suspect of the sensor itself as well.
