How's the 500E fendered wagon project? My fenders are in storage for now but I just installed a 500E front swaybar, what a difference...

Welll............. the weather is beautiful here and Chicago and the 500E is running perfectly so progress has ground to a halt... not to mention the other maintenence items that take precedence. Now is the cooling system.
Having said that, I have almost every single body part needed for the conversion. Skirts were a problem (pretty much the story of my life now that I think about it) but I now have them.
I am also trying to find a AMG 500E muffler (a Japan only item) and a few small electrical connectors.
Seriouisly your Renntech wagon has been the source of inspiration for me. I just wish I had your skill and more time. But soon.... very soon.
Thanks for asking

Good to know it inspires someone other than myself, lol. The .5 hr swaybar install took me 2. Some of the extra time is that I photo document the steps and realized I needed to keep everything loose until all the brackets were in place. It is a heavy bar and not so flexible...
I thought the H&R springs and HD shocks would make a bigger handling difference but the bar made the car flat on the curves, eliminating rubbing on the inner fender. I highly recommend anyone to get these bars.
I haven't installed the rear bar yet as it involves more work...

I heard Gillet made the mufflers. I know Sebring made the later mufflers.
I have a friend who works at Tenneco - which owns Walker - who owns Gillet.
I have asked him for any advice but its like calling GM and asking for a door handle for a 1993 Chevy.
I'll be putting the rear bar in soon, it's a good time to renew the subframe bushing since you have to drop it a little.
Also to put the rear bar in I need the 092 (wagon) torsion arms, a new SLS lever and U bolt and maybe a new arm (500E) that holds the SLS valve since it has to clear the sway bar.
Kind Regards,
Ron

Bump -- before it goes on ebay.
This will fit most ANY, maybe all, 124 series cars and will really impove the handleing by lessening body roll.
So how is this... $200 and I will throw in all 4 new bushings. These are genuine Mercedes parts bought from a Mercedes dealer. Bushing part numbers are 124 323 47 85 and 124 323 51 85. I called the dealer and it will take only a few days to get them from the warehouse.
You KNOW this is a good deal (for me, because my wife really does want this out of our - her - living room...).
$200 for the bar, brackets, and all new bushings. I'll pack it very well but you will pay shipping from 60025.
Thanks
