Check the KE Jetronic thread, you should find what you need there. Personally, I don't know.

there is a sensor wire that connects on the driverside of the battery tray which looks like its connected to the MAF Sensor ... so it looked like it was disconnected... I plugged it in and THE CAR DRIVES LIKE A BEAUTIFUL DREAM !!! SO HAPPY I PICKED THIS CAR UP... NEED SOME 16 inch carlsson and some suspension work to get low ...

I've been admiring, just watching the thread. I totally love the blue, would be a high preference choice for me. These wagons are great -
I would tint the front to match, had mine done that way before finishing the front windows, and it was a clear improvement. 16 inch Carlssons should show up about once a year or so. Does it have the dog block/cargo cover in the back? I saw one on ebay, if you have dogs, this thing is great. I keep it up so anything loose in the back wouldn't join me in case of accident. |

Nevermind... took about an hour... or so for the pressure switch to get filled with oil... so now its working great!!! AWSOME!!!! so at idle I am at 1.5 bar ... and at wot or full throttel 3bar... SWEET!!!!
now i have to figure out why my car starts to heat up in traffic... ??? it warms to the point where its slightly above the 100celcius so i start to see the collant boil over the overlfow... this only happens with the AC on... otherwise the car stays at the 80 on cool days and it heat soaks in traffic and starts to warm up with AC on full bore..?? is it water pump or thermostat... if i am driving at full speed on freeway i have no issues.. though as soon as the engine slows down ie traffic or stop lights the heat soak starts to rise the temp ... ??? I also need to fix the hydraulics on the rear tailgate... |

Check the fan clutch! Congrats on the purchase. I just picked up a 95 wagon today too. A little beat up, but not bad for $1700.

By connecting a fixed resistor in parallel with the engine sensor you can trick the climate controller into turning on the electric fans at a lower temperature. I have done this to my car and I have NEVER had the temp climb over 100 C since, whereas the post-freeway heat soak phenomenon you describe was common place before, even with a new fan clutch. If you have some electronic skills, you can DIY. Otherwise you can buy a pre-made harness or sensor that does the job, I posted a technique for DIY here: Resistor DIY or you can buy one here: Buy One. I think he is in your neck of the woods. The resistor mod can cause some undesirable interior fan operation for those of us on the colder side of the planet, but it should not be an issue in warm, sunny SoCal. I hope this is helpful and good luck with the Estate! BTW, I have a bad case of wagon envy (Newport Beach wouldn't hurt either )!- FD

I forgot to mention
I forgot to mention that you should also check the fuses for A/C Aux fans. There are five fuses to check. Three are in the fuse box on behind the fire wall on the driver's side (just inspect them all). The other two are part of the fan relays which are located inside a cover directly behind the fuses. To access these, you need to remove four phillips head screws and lift the cover off. There are several relays in there; just check the fuses on them all (these fuses will be the newer blade style rather than the Bosch style in the main panel).

Ok so had the car towed to my buddys shop... since I do not specialize in ignition issues.. LOL its beyond the shade of my tree.. LoL
So my buddy went on the steering wheel released two or 3 screws and now the car turns over again... TOTALLY WIERD!!! So the wagon is back on the road ... just needs a good wash and some new front suspension and brakes... I cant belive I almost took the car to the dealership they wanted 240 just to take my ignition cylinder out and diagnose... not including parts.. LOL HOPE THIS INsIGHT IS HELPFULL Last edited by MarioC55; 12-09-2011 at 12:06 PM. Reason: typo |
