I saw the list of codes all around, but no one has specified HOW to build the actual code reader. I understand you tap off pin 8 or 14 from the ECU, but what is required to make the tool? I am really good with wiring and etc so I know I can build it myself. But can someone tell me how to do it?

It's dependent upon the type of diagnostic connector the car has, as example the 8 and 16 pole connector is diagnosed with the LED Pulse counter.

The 38 pin connector requires the HHT tester and or the DAS Xentry. Typically the 38 pin cars are OBD cars and the emission related faults are read by cheap scanners
