First Benz Coming From BMW A/C Issue
Hey guys so just bought my first Mercedes last week and must say for the year and mileage and price I couldn't be more pleased. 1989 300E 153k needs interior work mostly and finding out its hard to come across, only have gotten a new rear bench so far. Mechanically she runs well, motor had an overhauled by the previous owner. I'm confused on an A/C issue I tried turning it on and the lines froze and warm air came out, I tested the compressor and it's working just fine, I'm hoping it's just low on refrigerant but if this is anything like a BMW then it might be a common problem across W124s and just seeing if there's anything you guys come across more often then other. Any insight would be appreciated. Parts list going in this week,
Rotors, pads, valve cover gasket, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs and transmission fluid and filter/gasket. If there's anything else I should add to the list I'd appreciate anyone to chime in. Thanks.
Here she is, not too bad for $1,200.

Out Of Control!!
Well it aint a BMW---you got the rat hole model---more money down the rat hole!!
In any event if you want to really test you AC system---you do it with a pulse counter and tap lead into 1 and 7 on the diagnostic plug and the + side of the battery.
1 pulse=system ok
2 pulse=incar temp sensor bad
bla
bla
bla
57 pulse=freshair flap switchover valve bad
Post the pulses and we can tell you what is faulty---all else is good entertainment!!
