Hey guys,
I'm part of a few groups on Facebook and hadn't found one regarding a W124, so we have one now. Those of you that are part of Facebook, here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/224626884381433/
You'll have to be accepted before you can post (keeps the spam bots out as much as possible) and you're good.
As of 3/16 we have 123 members.

Most likely the wire.
There is a weak spot where the wire is connected into the sunroof casette, it might have broken off.
If this is the case you will probably hear the wire moving inside the roof lining as you try to run the motor back and forth.
You should be able to simly push the sunroof back down by pressing it down from the outside, atleast so you can get it shut for the time being.
The repair however might involve a new wire and a complete disassembly of the entire sunroof to get the new wire back in place, how to do that when the wire is hooked off might be a slight problem as that job actually requires the sunroof to be slided back into the roof to get access to the screws..
That might be a problem if I am right about my theory about the hooked off wire..
