best gearbox for 300e 24 valve
Hi
my gearbox died yesterday, and need to be replaced. i am wondering weather stick to the 4 speeds Auto transmission or 5 speeds Auto. taking in confederation that the price of the 5 is almost double.

Out Of Control!!
Your drive train system was based on a set transmission----going to a different design transmission will cause you loads of hardware/software problems.
Keep it simple--- sell the car or get a 4 speed!!

5 speed is just an overdrive. I prefer 4 speed ones.
Keep in mind that if you change from 4 to 5 or vice versa you will need to check the diff ratio too.

it is done now, i got the 4 speeds one. the only thing i was thinking to have the 5 speed is the over drive, i usually go over 200km on highways so the overdrive could be better and i heard that it is almost 50% lighter than the 4 speed one.
