Rough idle rough until underway
Hi guys ok im at my end I my 1993 300e 3.2 is running very rough i picked this car up a few weeks ago so here is the deal...
1. I changed plugs all the coils and replace the fuel filter at idle in drive i have a rough idle also while in neutral ... I have cleaned the MAF with electrical parts cleaner, ran injector cleaner in gas tank after all of this it made a difference for about 800 miles.
Now the problem is back so I replaced spark plugs added more fuel injection cleaner and i have ordered a Overload Protection Relay becuase I have read some threads here that mention that this could be a issue...my OVP will arrive Monday after changing the plugs its is a little smoother but at idle and takoff the car sputters....
What the heck am I doing wrong or do you think the OVP will help correct this issue...
NOTE: on the highway she runs very smooth and acts like she wants to take off and fly but im really confused. I hope someone can help me out here. Also I check my plugs against a spark plug chart and they look very good.

You could try adjusting the fuel air mixture, the precedure is outlined here, http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w124...djustment.html
Be careful though its not hard to make your car run worse.

1995 E320 Wagon / 1991 VW GTi
I've got the same issue. My 95 E320 Wagon has been running great, albeit with a slipping reverse gear, for the past 40k miles since I purchased it. I was driving up an icy mountain road and broke traction in the rear wheels, when they hit pavement again it jarred something (I assume in the transmission) and has since idled very rough in all gears including park and while getting up to speed. Once you hit 15 mph and quit accelerating the shakes go away.
I've put in new motor mounts and a transmission mount and have not solved the problem. It got a LITTLE smoother, but not back to normal.

I would also bet if you flushed/changed transmission fluid, and gave the air fuel mixture a proper adjustment, your other problems might subside as well.
