1988 300E with check engine light
Hi All,
I recently purchased a 300e with 132K miles. The car used to idle low and stall so I changed the OVP relay. That did not resolve the issue so my technician changed the Air flow meter.
The car became better but the check engine light is continoulsy on and the car runs with hesitation. Recently I also changed the 02 sensor. If the engine light is not ON car runs freely like it should. I bought a code reader and read the codes, they are as follows:
Port 6:
3-Driver Side Air Bag
8-Circuit ISR, Voltage Supply
10-Control unit was activated
Port 7:
1-No code read.
I know the SRS light has been ON lately but I do not understand the check engine light. Any ideas from the above codes?
Thank You

Out Of Control!!
Clear all the faults. Then read port 3 and if you have a 16 port connector read 8 and 14 and post the results!!

The vin number is WDBEA30D7JA682263.
So port 6 and port 7 are not related to the engine right?
Yes the round port I believe is on the drivers side near the fender, would that be fimor the lambda duty cycle?
Thanks

Out Of Control!!
I wanted the VIN to check the 103.983 as built status----the odd part is that that MY documentation is calling for access to port 3-----therefore I am at a loss!!
