4matic transfer case

hello everyone- does anyone know if a 300TE 4matic TC fit in a 300E 4matic. The part numbers are slightly different?

300TE 1282801001
300E 1282803901

thanks in advance.

FYI,the correct part numbers are prefixed by 124 not 128, repeat not 128.

That being the case the short answer is NO repeat NO!!

the current part number for the VIN posted is 124 280 33 01 for up to transfer case 026550----your transfer case number is 022218.

For transfer case number, from 026551 the applicable part number is 124 280 39 01

thanks for your answer. last question before i throw in the towel, can i swap the internals from the TE TC to the E TC assuming that the difference is related to the outside casing? or is there something else different b/w the two TC's?

You obviously arn't famuliar with part numbering systems, in MB's case the 124 number is for the complete assy number not the case number---you repeat you would have to go through for each part and compare to determine what the difference may be or may be the difference is mounting hole locations----you can do that for an eighteen buck 24 hour subscription to WIS---then grab the kids and play whats the difference!!
