About to buy a W124 E220 Estate :)
Hey guys. I went to see a 1994 MB E220 Estate today. It's red, faded but in an overall good condition.
The motor has 151,000 miles on it but seems to be relatively healthy although I can see it is slightly wet (oily) under the head however it is not burning oil.
The arches, sills, etc. are not rusty. Wheels, tyres, brakes and sort of the most important stuff is in good condition.
The car comes with almost full 20 years of service history and receipts but I have yet to go through them.
I took it for a test drive today and it was all good. It does have an auto transmission (I like manuals ) but it shifted smoothly, engaged both Drive and Reverse quickly and was fast even when I pushed it a little.
I want to buy this as a somewhat of a project car. I have one year to make it into a nice car before I start driving it (currently have a daily driver).
The reason I am here is to ask for any particular things I should watch out for that could surprise me with a hefty bill later down the road. The guy wants €600 for the car (Roughly 750$ and 460£).
Thanks in advance
