no spark, new coils and new crank sensor

Hi I have a 3.2 300e and I just put in a brand new crank sensor, and new coils. Im getting power to the coils but no power after and no spark. I made my own code reader and every way I hook it up the light stays on and no flashes. Does anybody have a clue what can be happening. Ive googled it but keep coming up with nothing

Sorry ive been gone awhile working on my e30 now my dd is running fine im nack to work on my 300e. My car has a 3.2 I6 its got 3 coils on it ive changed the cps and the coils but still nothing, it has a single fuse 9pin ovp the fuse is fine but I shook it and it has a rattle. Ive heard that if it rattles that could mean its crapped out. Is their a way I can bypass it to find out. Theres only one place that has mercedes in the junk yard that specializes in German cars but they aren't open on the weekends and the parts stores here look at me stupid when I ask them about the part, can someone shed some light on me please.

Could be the engine temp sensor shorting out and sending an overheating signal. In that case, the engine shuts off…by cutting spark. Measure resistance of sensor.

I know this is an old thread but where is the temp sensor and what resistance should I see? I have no spark and tested just about everything else.

Kolt88 First go to the fuse box and check all the fuses give them a turn or pull out and push back in. The next is, can you see the rev counter move, as you try to start the car?.Movement tells you your ecu and cps is working.....If you can pull the ovp relay out ,open it up and re soldier the joints.Or swap it out for another one .The right one for your car, and not one that looks like it .Then come back and let us know after you do this please.

Kolt your M104 wont have the EzL i was talking about up above. Do you have three coils? and did you replace the rubber boots on the bottom of them .If you have power to the coil and nothing after ,its looking like the coil is the problem

Unplugging the temp sensor will give fail safe engine enable.

Think again, this is an old thread with many fixes. These ECU were not strategy driven but very basic.

Hmmm!!

My W124 is Turbo Diesel and will run without a battery but I used to service the gassers for a living. The ECU functions are very basic and extremely reliable.
cheers
