Hello all! I am new to the 124 scene but have been into Mercs for years.

I come to you for advice, I purchased a 1990 300E 3L Auto. Odometer broke at 144 so who knows. It runs smoothly down the freeway but the issues are as follows. Water Temp and fuel bounce a little but seem accurate

Difficult to start cold or warm. Requires gas pedal pumped. when idling/running it has a miss, from idle-2k rpm it misses 2k< it is smooth.

I have adjusted the throttle cable to idle around 1500 rpms when in park/neutral. when in gear the car suffers and nearly dies otherwise.. it has a rotational chug feeling. I topped off the trans fluid and it has helped a little.. I think a drain and fill is due.

Might be a failed accumulator...

Anything else I should check?

Cheers
-Brian

Is it the 12V M103?

It sounds a bit like the issues I have. Have you checked the spark plugs? My car is burning oil and due to that the plugs gets messy pretty quickly. When I change or clean the plugs it runs smooth again.

Apparently this is probably due to worn out valve stem seals, which lets the oil in were it's not supposed to be.

Maybe same issue?
