Hi Zayed,

the Datacard will show the Year the car was ordered und also the MB Dealer who ordered the car.
In the Datacard the Word "Auftragsnummer" means Order Number.
The red square ist the Year, 07 means 1987.
The blue square ist the Dealer number, in this case 217 = Frankfurt Germany

No way do they screw the vin plates on .And as for the paint repair its looking like original plate in the one picture with rust on the surface.As for what i think ,i would not touch it .To many things not right . One web site said 1989 another said 2001 .

Both ID-Plates are screwed on. Have a look on the pictures from my 300 SL, which is 100% original and since the first day in my hands

The FIN is always stamped into thr Frame!!
