95 E320 Wagon - Best Practices for Suspension Refresh
New w124 owner here. Just picked up a 163k mi wagon (pics coming soon).
It's a 2 owner southern CA car. Body & paint in excellent shape. Mechanicals, not so much.
Concurrently with fixing an exhaust leak, transmission leak/overfill, and broken driver's seat, I want to do a comprehensive suspension refresh and am looking for guidance. Despite my searching, I can't find a comprehensive best practice for this. Solutions are all over the place and some include cutting springs and other hacks. I do my own wrenching, and only want to pay for an alignment once, so would rather refresh as much as necessary while I'm in there.
Is there a tried-and-true approach that anyone can recommend? Ideally:
Appreciate any guidance from the experts. Thanks!

Is there a tried-and-true approach that anyone can recommend? Ideally:
- Retain SLS
- Firm up the suspension a bit (drives like a Buick right now)
- A bit lower (not looking for anything "stanced")
- Open to new sways, bushings, control arms, etc
Appreciate any guidance from the experts. Thanks!
