New C124 owner!

Hello all! I'm the proud new caretaker of a very red, gorgeous 1993 300CE Sportline. I live in the Nashville area and this is my first Mercedes purchase, but with any luck it won't be my last. I'm looking forward to spending time learning as much as I can while getting this car as close to perfect as I can muster.

I can't help with he VIN, but I can welcome you to the forum and to coupe ownership! I own an 89 and apparently we're neighbors, I also live in Nashville.

After some searching I came upon the EPC site and got my datacard from there... The original color is, in fact, Signal Red... Although it shows "Paint Code 5: 65" as well, which I can't find a description for anywhere. Original creme beige/mushroom leather interior, factory Sportline car... 1/2" wider Sportline 8-holes were painted ugly black by someone in the past, the car has some ghetto tint, and the hood emblem was replaced by an AMG badge, but these things should be easily remedied. The weather has been nasty since I bought the thing so I don't have any decent pics, but soon.

It has its issues, has a surging idle, but what I've seen of the harness looks to be in good condition so I can only assume it has been replaced at some point. It really seems to be a vacuum issue, but I'm not ruling out the ETA or OVP. Otherwise the thing is nearly perfect. All the electronics work, aside from a passenger seat that is currently only able to slide forward, which is pretty useful. I look forward to spending many years with this car.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm glad to be here.
