CLK wheel use on W124
I recently purchased a 1992 300CE, and have a set of16" CLK wheels (Part #208.401.00.02) that were included in a previous M-B purchase. My plan is to use the factory 15" wheels for winter tires and the CLK wheels for summer rubber. I understand the calculation for the tire dimension for the Plus 1 conversion to minimize gauge innaccuracy, but am curious if the wheel are simply a direct bolt on or if spacers of some type are required?

Those CLK rims are beauties!
Very lightweight too!

I ran those for several years on one of my 300CEs. No spacers required front or rear. IIRC it was 205/55R16 size tires, which have a SLIGHTLY smaller circumference than stock. Nice choice - and not easy to find anymore in good condition.

Thanks - they were on the 2.3-16 when acquired it, but have put the factory original wheels back on that. Any idea about the proper lug nuts to use on the CE?

if you take one of your original wheels off the ce and put a bolt on n one of the holes and see how much come through visibley from the back and compare it to the clk wheel.
The back wheels are the ones you really have to check as too long will mdamage the brakes.
I always spin the wheels by hand before i lower the car back on to the ground, that way you can hear and feel if they are too long.
