300E Should I buy it?? What do I need to consider? Any things to look for?
HI
I'm looking at a 1990, W124, 300E, sedan.
It just passed smog.
The mileage is at about 213,000. Although the odometer reads 133,000, Autocheck (like Carfax but cheaper) says it has about 200k. I've heard that the speedometers fail on these so perhaps that's why, but in any case, it has about 200K.
No accidents.
The body looks great.
The interior is perfect.
The price would be $1400
It's in California and always has been according to Autocheck.
Any thoughts about
1) should I buy it?
2) What should I consider before buying it?
3) What should I look for while I'm looking at it?

Mike,
I like my '86 300E. If you are a decent mechanic buy it. It's an older car, so it will need attention from time to time. Good price. Good help on the forums to fix anything.
