91 300d 2.5 turbo tranny issues?
Hi folks
Just bought a nice example one owner w/235k miles...leather interior is unbelievably immaculate but yes some rust in the usual places.
Been looking at it for a few weeks here in upstate NY but never drove it til today after paying for it and found it to have a drag changing gears. Never drove far only 100 feet or so but never felt the gears change.
Car has been off the road for 2yrs since original owner passed away and his wife only started and moved it up and down their driveway just as I had done before my purchase that is.
My question is should I attempt to drive it or remove transmission fluid and filter 1st and can I expect to see a difference? Checked the fluid level and it is full and looking clean.
Thanks for any and all suggestions

Out Of Control!!
I would not do anything-----simply get on the Thruway and run the car over to Rotenchester and back---has anything changed!!
PS: make sure all the fluids are up before the voyage!!

Still working thru possibilities...did drive it yesterday for 5+ miles and today I disconnected the kick out switch, now will drain the fluid which appears to be over the limit on the dip stick. The car will not up shift from 1st gear tho I believe a remedy is near - staying positive!
