Hey guys, I haven't found anything on this by search or google, and I'm new to the Mercedes world. I just moved moved to Taiwan and got a 91 w124 230 E with the m102.982 engine and an auto trans. I want to switch it to manual, but engine swaps are basically illegal here (you can get away with it if they don't check, and as long as the displacement is the same they usually don't bother, but if you get caught all hell breaks loose). Is there any manual transmission that'll bolt up directly (or with an adapter/different bellhousing) to that m102.982?

It's not that simple--you would also have to change the engine control unit, wiring harness, drive shaft bla bla----take your money and invest in a fortune cookie or noodle factory!!

I gotcha, I had a feeling it wouldn't be as simple as the old tractor level technology I'm used to in Land Cruisers
