Just picked up this W124 300e 2.6 last night.... For in my eyes VERY cheap for the condition and history.

Welcome to the W124 world. Lots of work planned but if it needs it, go for it. Done properly, repairs will last a long time, as will the car. If it were mine, I'd add treating the rust spots so they don't get any worse while you do the other stuff. Although this site is great, there are others you may want to visit...
benzworld dot org comes to mind.

A bit OT...How do you keep the VW in the pictures aligned? I had (and will soon again) have a lowered W124. Beer cans and box turtles are road hazards . This time front adjustable upper strut mounts and and rear adjustable camber and toe bushings should allow stock alignment settings. Low is great but I value tire life more than negative camber.

Well the top car is on Air? It doesnt loose its alignment. The W124 would also be on air. What do you suggest to treat the rust spots with so they don't get worse?
