Major Electric Problems

I have a 94 E420. Yesterday almost all of the electric accessories quit all at once. I do have parking lights, turn signals and horn, but headlights, sunroof, heater, windows, and seats all quit at once. The car starts and runs fine.
I don't think it is an individual fuse problem because they all worked the day before. Is there some kind of master fuse or circuit breaker that controls all of these items?

Inspect and rotate the fuses.

If they are original aluminum, order copper ones.

In the absence of a VIN---I would test the base module and fuses which are located on the passenger side under hood up near the windshield!!

Major electrical problems

A repair shop said it was the convenience control module under the rear seat which controls all of those items. The module costs $925 installed so I am probably going to scrap the car as it is not worth it to me to pour another near thousand bucks into it. Too bad as I finally got it running beautully.

No reason to scrap the car. Don't buy a new module at the retail price. Contact David Hendy at dhendy3697@aol.com. He parts out W124'S. Your other alternative is to get a part number off the existing convenience control module and search eBay.

Major Electrical Problems

93corrado, That was a great idea to check Ebay. I found a few used modules for under $30. But then how do I know if they are good or defective like mine since they are all about 20 years old like mine.?

Some of the ebay sellers state that the units are tested and working. Honestly it's a crap shoot when you're buying used parts. At $30 apiece you could buy ten of them, hopefully end up with three or four good ones and still come out ahead of buying a new one.
