Steering knuckle/wheel hub from R129 SL used on some W124 - interchangeable?
Hello,
I have the steering knuckles/wheel hubs with part numbers A 124 330 04 20
and A 124 330 05 20 on my car, a '95 E36 AMG (based on the E320).
I see in the EPC that the steering knuckles/wheel hubs with part number A 129 330 02 20 and A 129 330 03 20 are installed on W124s with V8 engine, sedan/coupé/convertible E320 & E36 and the long wheelbase 124s.
I have gotten my hands on new brake calipers ordered for a W124 E500 with part number A 001 420 00 83 and A 001 420 01 83. They do NOT fit the 124 steering knuckles, as the mounting points are in the wrong place, and neither the steering knuckle nor the caliper have mounting threads.
The factory installed brake calipers on my car are nowhere in the EPC to be found. The data on older AMG models is quite bad..
I believe I can swap my 124 parts to the 129 version to install those brake calipers. Anything to watch out for?
