E320 Convertible Top Problem
Hey guys,
I'm having some trouble with my E320 W124 convertible top.
Here's what happens when the top is up, and I attempt to put it down:
1- start engine
2- open convertible latches to release roof from windshield frame
3- press and hold convertible top switch
4- The rear boot unlatches from the bottom piece
The top has a solid 2 seconds of motion, and then it stops. If I keep holding the button.... 5 seconds later, it moves another 2 seconds. Wait another 5 seconds....it moves another 2 seconds.
This video shows what the car does. Go to 0:50 seconds in the video
It only does this sometimes.
I read the comments in that video, and it says something about setting the windows? Maybe that's another problem, if I hit the auto roll down button on my drivers window, it only goes about half way down. I tried setting it (roll window up, roll window down, hold full-down for 5 seconds) and it's about a 50/50 chance of the window actually going down.
Is this related to my convertible top problem? Convertible top fluid level is full. Thank you!

Out Of Control!!
You have a sensor problem----choice A-- continue to watch HS vids and get nothing done or B---spend the few bucks get a pulse counter and read the fault codes and then post the faults which will help solve the problem!!

Hm..... sounds like an easy decision! I have a pulse counter. Which pins are for the convertible diagnostic system?
But to be fair... posting that video should have helped explain what my problem was. I will report back my fault code(s). I just found a great page, I didn't realize it had the convertible trouble codes listed.
I will report my findings.
