1993 300E 2.8 M104 Engine oil leak HELP

Hello guys,

Just recently finished restoring my beloved 300E 2.8 and disaster.. a big oil leak appeared. It comes from the from on the engine, on top. Even with the car parked it leaks, quike badly (over 10 drops a day with the car stationary).
I have taken the liberty of post here some photos.
Any advice in what could it be would be greatly aprreciated.. its the onlu 300E 2.8 in Portugal and very few cars here with this M104 engine, so not many "experts" avaliable..

Do you guys have any ideia about what can be? Personally I think it might be timing cover seal.. but not sure.

Thanks,

This is what you get when the top 1/4 of chain cover wants resealing . Its the part at the back of distributor , .But from the picture its hard to say if it is the chain cover leaking or not . You can see this job done for yourself on youtube.

Power wash the engine, then you can pay attention to where it is leaking from.

Could be timing chain cover or front crank seal.

Also make sure your dipstick O ring is sealing well. I had engine leaks and I replaced the O ring on the dip stick and all my leaks went away....engine internal vacuum keeps the oil in but not if there are massive leaks.
