Sadly, my mechanic (a reputable guy) tells me that the convertible top controller for my 1995 e320 Cabriolet, aka "the green tornado" is shot and needs to be replaced. The part number is 124 820 45 26. Does anyone have any thoughts on where I can get a new one? MB shows this as an out of stock no longer produced part. Alternatively does anyone know anyone who can rebuild one that no longer works? Thanks to anyone who can provide guidance.

I think someone is handing you a load of HS. As long as your VIN is "as of" B993872---part number 124 820 45 26 is good, but expensive!!
