So the part is in Canada..... So I whet to get the mail yesterday and though I'd see if it would start..... it did and ran longer then a few seconds..... I forgot I had unhooked the two wires from the temp sensor (looking at taking it out...what size is it?) and I hooked them back and it did the old same start..... So I'm really hoping the new sensor solves the problem....fingers crossed

Gray the size of the socket is 22mm . And a deep one is best but try a ring spanner or you can damage the sensor top .But be vigilant removing it . . Did you clean the earth points up? and the fuse job i told you about ...

OK part came today.... and I have a socket the fit it to a tee...slid on easy with a little play and no contact with the green part. At first it did not change anything about starting.... so I adjusted all back to where they were before..... It did need gas for five or so minutes as it would just die otherwise.... son helped (finally...lol) so while I was checking duty cycle as he kept it at 2500 rpm's did a little adjustment , told him to take foot of gas...... it ran by it's self. He did need to go to work so I packed up the tools and had to give it gas to start again..... drove fine to and from dropping him off. Pulled into the back lane...stopped the engine as I needed the keys to move the old van.... it started by it's self (engine off for no more then a minute) .... so now I'll wait an hour and see what it will do. I do need to put the old instrument pod back in as the used one I bought says I'm doing 22 kms and I'm not in gear....lol

I did pop all fuses out and sprayed it all with elec contact cleaner. Still looking for the big one (ground) on the side of the engine ...but I can do that when in the garage.
keep you posted

Thank you and glad its started up after all the trouble you have had. As for the high speed showing on the clock you should lift the needle over the end stop .Before you remove it and mark the place it stops in .Then pull it off .Re fit to the mark and lift it clockwise over the end stop. The needle as been removed before and put back to the left of the stop. Hope you understand ? .
