'94 E320 124 Soft Top conversion to manual operation
94 E320 Has anybody converted the soft top operation from hydraulic to manual? I've read the owners manual. I'm not looking for a temporary fix or work around. I'm looking to permanently change to manual operation.
Thanks in advance.

Just fix it....it is more pleasurable and will help resale. If you're willing to go through he effort to convert it to manual then I assume you are capable of doing something so simple as refilling the hydraulics or even replacing the cylinders if needed. Do it once do it right.

Yeah ^ My car currently is manual. I had a leaking main ram replaced, but also my roof ecu had suffered from water damage, so the mechanic left the system depressurised. This means that I can manually open/close the hood.
However, my roof ecu is fixed now and I'm fitting it this weekend hopefully, so I'll be back to baller/automatic mode.
So yeah in a nutshell, if you want to manually run the roof - get the fluid/remaining air removed.
