Staggered 17" lowered with H&R springs. AMG fender spacer mod in front and all lips were rolled. 225 and 245 tires. Zero rubbing anywhere.

Here are mine, with Lorinser D93 17" wheels. Front 215/45/17, Rear 225/45/17. Lorinser wheels work with integrated spacers, probably 7mm in front and 12mm at the back. No rolling of fenders and no rubbing.

No; lowered springs and shocks. AMG front, H&R Rear, on Bilstein B8. More on the 17" Lorinser D93 - they front and rear are the same in width, both 8", offset +44; but the 7mm and 12mm spacers create the staggered effect.

Not necessary if you travel frequently with passengers or full load at the back.

hanly2, there are actually much more pictures of 124's with 17" wheels in the Picture Thread i.e. the first thread in the Sticky section of this forum. I think the rule of "x+2" is the upper limit one can fit larger wheels on the W124, and 17" is the best fit in terms of appearance and road handling.
