Need your help please
Hey guys it's been a while since I visited the site , got preatty busy with life , you know how it is , anyways I parked the 320 ce and barely drove it in the last 3 years ,I put that project on hold for now , however lately I got into it again and I decided instead of investing any more money into it , actually burry it in that car to get a prestine 500e,
So I started looking AND THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE ONE IS THE ONE ON EBAY WITH
35K THAT LOOKS PREATY CLEAN , BUT I HATE THE OLD HOOD STILE AND TRUNK , AND I WOULD HATE TO Do anything to the car , I want to get a very low miles and keep it all original ,
So anyways along all this search I got into talks with a friend of mine from Germany and he is willing to give me his E 60 Amg for 79k , but it has the new face lift and everything , now my question to you is this , will bring in us that car be a mistake ?
Is a 95 mint condition all original E60 Amg with 40 k miles on the dash worth that money ,
I would love to get It , just don't want to make a mistake .What do you guys think ?
By the way is any of you , or you now willing to sell their 500 e ?///?
Or is anyone interested to take over my 320 ce project?

500E and E60 AMG are both very rare cars. If money and time are of no object, and collect rather than daily drive is your goal, you know which one is better to keep. Also, personal preference and trying to stay factory original are conflicting; you have to make up your mind. Nevertheless, compared with your 320CE project, the return of the E60's body look to original is a much lesser challenge. I personally enjoy the process of conversion and restoration. Buying a 100% perfect car will deprive you of at least half the fun.

Found an old article of 1994 about the E60 AMG. Does it look like the car as your friend's in Germany?

Geosss, I have been an owner of 1994 E60 for 20 years now, among other cars owned currently.
Back then, I got interested in 500E/E500 and set out to acquire one. At the time, I did not know of AMG E60 model at all. Finally located a dealer that had an E500 that I was interested in, went to see, test drove, and was impressed, ready to buy. However, by chance, this dealer also had this E60. I asked about it, test drove, and never looked back. E500 was a wonderful car, but after driving E60, I was sold, even though it was over my budget.
Bought it practically new with only 6,000km, one owner car, imported new to Japan from Germany. The Japanese owner used it as his leisure car. I am the second owner and has close to 100,000km now. Don't think I would part with this one.
After all these years, I am still impressed by this car. I do own other cars that are way more powerful than this, yet my feeling is the same.
If you have the opportunity to own one, maybe it was meant to be.
I have no idea of the market value but suffice to say that I have not regretted one bit owning mine.
Good luck with your decision either way.

Hey guys , thanks for the advice , I made the decision and got the 500e due to the e60 more than double price , but more due to the import headache because it is 95, so I decided for now to get a 500e which I got already , and in the future if everything goes right either sell it and get the 60e or keep booth , who knows .
Thanks again I'll post picture , rims came in this week so I'll post pictures
