last try

Have owned a 95 e420 for over a year. Attempted to repair a year ago and after trying everything I gave up and restored a different car(mg). I have finished that project and the 95 e420 was just sitting so decided I would give it another try. Having trouble with limp mode. It will not come out of limp mode no matter what I do. Have changed wiring harness(twice) changed ETA
(twice). Have a complete additional set of module tried every combination
still wont run off limp. In addition it will start cold and run smoothly(in limp mode) but after five to ten minutes of warming up it starts hunting and detonating thru exhaust. Once hot it will not start again. I have pulls can box and pinned out most all wires to connectors Can still not get it running right.
I get codes 30 on pin 6 and 2 on pin 7. Have erased all codes but these two will not erase. Also the base module will not blink once after code clear.
No hum from ETA. Can hear it energize for a second upon turning on key but wont hum
Checked wiring to eta and both pinn 11 and 4 have power(thought one was ground) With test light on pin 11 of eta could see it turn on then lose power. Have spent hours looking for something obvios to no avail

Have only a blink code reader Hopefully there is someone out there that can keep me from sending it toi the junkyard. any ideas greatly appeiciated

Why would you rather spend that much time and money on new parts DIYing with basic tools than sending it to a proper workshop?

Pride, been working on them for 45 yrs. sending it to someone else would cost more than the car. just looking for input from someone with similar problem for ideas that i have yet to try. Thats the challenge/fun, trying to fix it. Thanks for your input

Understood. I have no engineering background and am not familiar with the W124 V8 set-up. Hopefully others would be able to help.

its tough when you run out of things to try. I have a couple more notes or questions to add. when checking pins i noticed that there seems to be power at both pin 4 and pin 11 leading to the eta (blue and black ) both had power. The schematic says one is ground or - didnt think i should have power at both. also notice when blink code reader was plugged in i turned the key off and the led on the code readfer lit up. Is there suppose to be power to the diagnostic terminals(pin 6 and 7) with the key off??. also these module with erase most codes but will not blink once to confirm ok status.
Again any input would be greatly appreciated thanks
