Tire pressure and mpg

I noticed improvement of mpg from 22 to 24, after increasing pressure from 32/36 to 36/42. What's your observation?

things with and without wheels
you will get better mpg with more tire pressure, keep in mind that when the tire heats up , the tire pressure will increase and it might reach burst pressure and i know you dont want that.Your ride quality will also suffer with higher pressures well as irregular tire wear.

I agree with RobertG. Upping the pressures so high may indeed lower your gas bill, but your tire bill will go up. High pressure will cause your center tire tread to wear out much more quickly. Ideally your pressure should be set so that your tires wear across the tread evenly.
