Whats the avg. life span of a stock Headlights for a 2001 e430?

In 2001 (when the car was still new) I’ve never noticed a shortening life span for my headlights, but as the years pass I’ve noticed a shorter and shorter life span for my headlights (approx. 12months)

Anyone of you guys know if the car's age correlate to the shorter life span of the headlights?

I was just wondering of it has something to do with the distribution of the electrical current that makes the headlight’s life shorter.

Mind you, I don’t believe I have any present electrical problems or any electrical problems that I have observed.

When you install the headlights are you toucing them with your bare fingers? If you touch any part of the glass bulbs that is highly pressurized the life span of the bulb will become shorter considerably. If you do come in tact with the glass clean the glass with a denatured alcohol solution and some cotton *****.

lets say for instance if it was touched; long of a life span are we talking about? vs. not touched?

It depends on usage. It could be from months for a tocuhed bulb to years for an untouched bulb. I touched the Silverstars in my wifes Odyssey and the bulb blew out in 6 months. The new bulb I put in has been going fine for the past 5 months without having blown out. She also keeps the headlights on all the time.
