Permanent 12v and the ignition 12v on 2000 Mercedes E320 for Parrot CK3100 Bluetooth

I need help very badly!

I was able to pull out my stereo to install the parrot ck3100 bluetooth device. Everything worked fine...I loved the bluetooth system.

The problem is...The Parrot CK3100 unit remains on all the time even when the key is not turned on. I used the red and blue/white wire on the car stereo wirings...the red as the permanent 12v and the blue/white as the ignition 12v. I think this is wrong.

I need to look for the permanent 12v and the ignition 12v for the stereo where i can tap the same wires from the parrot so the unit will only turn on when i turn on the ignition.

I hope someone can tell me where these wires are ( a diagram would also help)... I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance...

The reason you dont have it is because the car is the CAN version as per facelift model. These type of cars wake up the radio with the data network and not the ignition switch.

You will needs to find someone who knows what they are doing and get them to locate 15R on the front fuse box.

Use the 12V line on the cigarette lighter (it's switch from the ignition). That's what I tapped for my radar detector on my '03 W210 wagon.

Hope this helps...

thanks for the help everyone...I tapped the ignition wire to the wire on the cigarette lighter adapter.

It worked fine now..

However, my door remote does not lock or unlock. I may have to synchronize. How long does it usually take?

It's okay. The synchronizing doesn't take too long, you'll definitely have it synchronized before the next popsicle rave.

Bring it to your dealer, they should be able to help you out at no cost to you.

I thought all you needed to do to syncronize the key was to start the car with it.

Is there a DYI or site with wiring info on the cig lighter - what color is live & what is ground?

Also the steps for removing the console (lighter area and stereo area) available somewhere?

I am trying to tap in for a portable XM radio install and don't want to have the adapter in the cig lighter all the time. This should be the same as for an Ipod or other toy.

Thanks!

I was wondering exaclty what you bought to install this into your 2000 E Class.

I too have a 2000 E320 (facelift model) and I looked on the Parrot site and they only list installation diagrams for the non-fibre optic models, so 96-99.

Got any info and pricing? Thanks.

It would be nice to have my car phone back since I switched from the MB Timeport.
