They have completly different engines. They have the same hp ratings but I think that the torque curves are supposed to be different. But the main difference to me is the E430 engine is much easier to tune, there is lots more stuff you can do to the new engines. I like my e420 though. BTW which is faster your e420 or your mustang gt?

Tuneups something like every 30k miles for E420 and 100k miles for E430. Oil changes something like every 5k miles for E420 and average 12k miles for E430. Better Gas miles on E430. The E430 has the new style infra-red key.

Thanks all. Oil change every 5000miles? No problem..he he

Gragigotgame, to answer your question, the 'stang will eat the Mercedes off the line, but above 100mph, I don't doubt the E will take the 'stang... One is a stoplight warrior, and the other is an Autobahn cruiser...

I am sure the Stang has a higher differential, which would explain it.

I was just curious to see which one you thought was faster. I have beaten a few gt's on the highway but I never raced a gt off the line. I beat an older style ( late 80's) off the line but I doubt it was a 5.0.

I see. yeah..highway speeds, the stangs aren't very good because the powerband basically dies once it hits 5400 rpms..but off the line, stock they do it in 5.5secs 0-60.

Can someone let me know? I just bought this car a month ago and not really knowledgeable about it yet...
