2000 E430 water pump replacement

Am preparing to replace the WP on my 2000 E430 (254,000 mi). The cooling fan is threaded onto the WP. I have no idea how to remove the fan, is a strap wrench on the pulley sufficient? Also I have seen numerous videos on the replacement of WP's some showing the removal of the radiator and some not requiring the radiator removal. Suggestions?

No you do not need to remove the radiator and the fan clutch is RH thread.

Thanks for the quick reply. I spent last winter in Palmetto. You live in a great area of the country

There are two special tools for fan removal. I have provided a link below so you can see what they look like. I don't think a strap wrench will work.

If you have big hex on the clutch that threads into pump shaft, the best way to remove it is air chisel.
You apply it to corner of the hex and in 2 seconds it will go out with hand turn.
You will find youtube videos how mechanics do it on Ford Powerstrokes.
