2000 E430 4matic broken front spring
Hi there guys.
I have discovered I have a broken front spring on my 430. I know I should do both fronts at the same time but I'm looking for a decent OEM replacement. I don't want to lower it, just keep it the same (bad roads around here). The dealer wants $270 per spring!!!! I'd rather not pay that. Any suggestions of a spring I should look for?
thanks v. much.

check out online website like www.parts.com, much cheaper then the dealership prices.

posting a 'want' on MB forums. folks who have lowered their 210s may have
OEM springs available (i got mine for $30 shipped with only 2k miles on them)
checking your insurance company if they know of a wrecked 210 locally

Call Potomac German Auto in Maryland or email them for used parts. They stand behind what they sell. I have used their services many times and always with good results.

i have the oem springs from when i lowered mine but one of the fronts had approx 1/3 of the bottom coil rusted/broken off. i don't know how but it rode even somehow. either way, if you want me to ship you the front spring that isn't broken, i'll sell it for $25 + shipping. car is a 99 e320 that had 95k miles when i pulled the springs and lowered it. efrancin@ec.rr.com is my email if you are interested. -Erik

From memory, I paid about $45 each for new OEM front springs from mbonlineparts.com.
I wouldn't want to install used springs uness they were taken off a new car. Too many of these crack, and I wouldn't want to put that much labor into installation for a used part.

Sorry to Necro this thread guys but, I just want to be sure that I'm buying the proper front springs for my 2000 E430-4Matic. I understand from the above posts that they are different springs than the RWD model but, many websites are listing the same part number for both the Base and 4Matic models.
I went to mbonlineparts.com and parts.com as suggested earlier in this thread but, the dilemna listed above is evident here. Part# 2103212804
I went to bilsteins direct website http://cart.bilsteinus.com/product/36-129591/200315/AWD and found the proper part # 36-129591 ? But using this part number I can't find a single one in the U.S. all come from Germany. I find it hard to believe that no where in America carries this spring.
Any help would be appreciated.
