I did this on my 2001 and it was plug and play with no error codes. I didn't do the auto leveling feature so I'm not sure how much more work that may be.

Sounds great. May I ask: What is the auto-leveling feature?

The xenons have motors and sensors to automatically level themselves as you go over bumps. This is to keep them from potentially causing glare to oncoming drivers. I aimed my lights a bit lower then stock to help with this problem.

Auto-Leveling is a lot more work, you would need to gut your car to put in the wiring, cause you'll need a sensor in the front suspension as well as one in the rear. Not to mention headlamp-washer retrofit if you'll ever want one.
Other than that it should be the same, not sure about error messages though, I know w211 requires the lights computer to be programmed accordingly, I don't know if same applies to our older cars. |

Basically, you guys suggest I just install the headlights, but just skip the installation for the auto-leveling feature; it sounds complicated and expensive. How would I 'tilt' the lights a bit downward as you say suicidal4life? If I didn't, would it be that much of a problem?

You still have the two adjusting screws as you do with halogen lights, do a search, or open your cars manual it's all there, really not all that complicated...

Since a long time I am trying to put in my s 430 , 2001 Xenon Headlamps . My original are Halogen.Actually, I want every features that the Xenon have . ( motor ,auto leveling or something else that might be ) I asked the Dealer and they told me that I need wiring to install those Lamps and will cost me $ 5000.
Does anybody know, Is the wiring difficult "DIY" ? If someone did it can provide some info ? Thank you |

it's less wiring (almost none) and more mechanical parts (almost all) and nealy impossible to get from dealer w/o a lot of hassle. easier to locate wreck/donor and remove parts i opine

On the S430 if you have air suspension chances are mos of the hardware's already there. Post your exact year and model(220.xxx) if you know it, and I'll see if I can dig up the procedure.

Here's everything you need to know, once everything's installed you'll need to bring it to the dealer or a very good Indi to program them in, to work properly. Good luck.

Thank you. It is amazing (and frustrating) how few 210s have these. I can't tell you how many I have skipped online trying to find the right car.
